I had a large painting that I liked the frame but grew tired of the painting itself. I just took the frame, painted it white and bought a pack of 12x12 cork squares. What do you think of mid century modern design? Can you love it without necessarily wanting it in your house? I forgot to mention that I used an artists brush for all of the teeny corners and to work around the hinges. I know it seems crazy to paint the doors while they're still on but the brush made it quite easy. It looked flawless! Now when I go to paint the upper cabinets I will definitely take those off as it is much harder to be precise while straining to reach.

I am happy to report that I have finally given my site a facelift. I have major design ADD and I have a hard time choosing a design that reflects my style but doesn't pidgeon hole me into one style. I am so excited because Stacy (Oakmont Candle Co) sent me a big box of soy candles. They have everything from pumpkin pie to peppermint, lavender, ocean, white tea...yum! Normally I would never have a candle burning right next to me because they tend to give me headaches but these smell great and are clean burning. I took a line from a song by "Be Good Tanyas" called Littlest Birds which I love and I painted this design on my daughter's wall. I hate to hang artwork over her bed because I'm always afraid it will fall (she's 4), so a mural, no matter how simple is always a good safe alternative. I just made it up in Photoshop, printed it on transparency paper, projected it on the wall and painted away!
